Josh Carney, P.E. 

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering / Pennsylvania State University 

  • Founded CEG in 2009, and supervises the firm’s conceptual structural design and forensic engineering work 

  • Areas of specialization include historic renovation and preservation, forensic engineering analysis, long-span steel structures, design/build, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) 

  • Has been an expert structural witness to the US Department of Justice and has been called upon for professional forensic consulting services by a wide variety of clients 

  • Serves the community on various nonprofit boards, including Working Class makerspace, York Suburban Education Foundation, and Leadership York. Past board service has included the United Way of York County and ACE Mentoring Program of Central PA. 


Derek Donnelly, P.E.

Director of Structural Engineering 

  • Civil Engineering Technology / University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown 

  • Project expertise focused on engineering of steel buildings, including schools, office buildings, warehouses, museums, hotels, apartment buildings, municipal buildings, and industrial facilities 

  • Experience also includes structural steel connection design, wastewater treatment plant structures, structural assessments, and feasibility studies
