History

Carney Engineering Group (CEG) is a forward-looking, multi-discipline engineering firm. Owner and President, Josh Carney, a Licensed Professional Engineer, has been a constant in the architecture and engineering industry by providing structural engineering services for more than 15 years to clients that range from state departments of transportation and local municipalities to general contractors and architects.

CEG was founded on the principles and strategies Josh gained from his years of experience and has created a platform of customer relationship building. Our goal is to provide unmatched services to our clients by using a fully-integrated and streamlined approach, including comprehensive design through the use of Building Information Management (BIM) processes.

As a newly formed company, CEG is able to free itself from the restraints of more established firms and move quickly as well as decisively to adapt to change and to leverage the new tools available to our industry. Our use of 3D-modeling software to change the way projects are delivered makes us a critical member of the building team and helps omit costly and time-consuming errors on projects.

CEG is also committed to the incorporation of environmentally-conscious design concepts and is an advocate for the green building/LEED movement. We believe that stewardship of our community and the environment is a fundamental responsibility of all people, particularly engineers who have the necessary tools to effect change.

Our professionally-trained staff of 10 includes professional engineers, project managers, and BIM specialists. Our services include structural engineering, forensic engineering, steel detailing, building information management, value engineering, and constructability reviews. We are located in York, Pennsylvania and have performed work in Pennsylvania as well as in Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, Iowa, Missouri, and South Carolina.
